Love taking place in the heart is something some people actually still believe! It actually takes place in the LIMBIC SYSTEM OF THE BRAIN.
The limbic system is the small part in the center of the brain. It controls all emotions. Basically, here’s how it works:
Sometimes the brain makes good slime, sometimes the brain makes bad slime. For some people, the brain makes more bad slime than good slime. That’s called clinical depression!
Let’s look at some examples:
This image is funny. It makes people watching it happy, which means that the brain creates serotonin. Serotonin is a « good slime ».
Now, replace that image with the face of someone you love. Woohoo! That’s how love works!
